15 years wheelchair
"If someone says to you, that's not okay. Always remember, these are his limits, not yours.”
For the past 15 years I have been crossing the boundaries imposed on me by others. I fight against prejudices and clichés. And would like to encourage you to create a fulfilling life for yourself and to hold on to your dreams and goals.
After my accident, I fell into a deep, dark hole. I had no more prospects.
Before me a life in a wheelchair. Which is the worst thing anyway, you wouldn't wish that on anyone. Disabled, useless, helpless, unlovable. A life of desolate, lonely darkness. You get the hint with the fence post, don't you?
It's been a long process, a long healing phase - it took me years to discover that living with a disability is not something that happens in the dark, as unfortunately is still ingrained in much of societal thinking.
Life is as colorful and radiant as you make it yourself.
The anniversary of my accident is neither a second birthday nor a day of mourning for me. It's just a day that makes me think. A day that makes me look back. And a day that shows me every year what is possible in life.
A life with a paraplegia is not always easy and yes, please bring the healing. How I would like to be able to go to the toilet normally again, walk across a sandy beach with my son or feel the lightness that I miss so much.
But there is currently no cure and I have learned to live with my life - sometimes better, sometimes worse.
However, as I look at my life today, I am filled with sheer gratitude!
15 years ago I could never have imagined which paths open up and which dreams come true.
My life today is filled with unconditional love, cozy warmth, radiant light and bright colors.
I am mother to my greatest love, fiancee to the most caring man. I have family and friends who stand by me even in the most difficult times. I couldn't be more grateful!
With my company Rollin'Art I can carry this gratitude, this light, this love and these colors out into the world.
And as luck would have it, contracts were signed today, February 3, 2023. Contracts that allow me to cross borders with my company and turn my dreams into a colorful reality.
February 3rd - The day that changed my life and me 15 years ago. And a day that shows me every year what is possible in life.
